Ce travail analyse la dynamique d'une école rurale, cherchant à comprendre comment la proposition pédagogique s'est centrée sur la réalité du monde rurale et si elle a contribué au développement des Communautés rurales regroupées au sein d'un Comité d'Associations d'Agro-éleveurs. \n \nL'étude a été réalisée dans une région semi aride Nordestine, celle de Massaroca, dans le Munícipe de Juazeiro-BA. Les acteurs impliqués dans la vie de l'Ecole, acteurs internes (parents, jeunes, membres du Comité, élèves et anciens élèves...), acteurs externes (professeurs et techniciens travaillant dans la région) ont été la principale source d'informations. \n \nL'auteur a opté pour une démarche qualitative, privilégiant des méthodes participatives, dans lesquelles les acteurs sociaux exercent un rôle fondamental dans la définition des objectifs. \n \nA la fin de ce parcours de recherche, il est possible de conclure que l'école rurale de Massaroca est au service du développement. Son intervention, basée entièrement sur l'organisation des liens sociaux qui structurent les communautés rurales, cherche à transformer localement le tissu social dans une pédagogie de l'intervention sociale, à l'image de ce que Paulo Freire a défendu dans ses écrits. L'école Rurale de Massaroca a ainsi contribué au développement local des communautés rurales. L'école assume un rôle de consolidation des ressources humaines et économiques des communautés. \n
