Les routes touristiques du Québec figurent parmi les expériences clés que la destination québécoise met de l’avant afin de se promouvoir auprès de ses marchés clés : le Québec, l’Ontario, le Nord-Est des États-Unis et la France. Pour les inciter à emprunter ces routes en cours de séjour, il est primordial d’identifier les facteurs pouvant influencer l’attractivité touristique perçue à leur égard, constituant l’objectif de ce mémoire. Le premier chapitre procède à une revue de littérature et définit les concepts clés de cette étude : le self-drive tourism et l’attractivité touristique perçue. Il s’attarde également aux différents modèles de prise de décision en marketing touristique. Cette revue de littérature permet par la suite d’élaborer le cadre conceptuel en plus d’identifier la variable qui sera utilisée pour mesurer concrètement l’attractivité perçue : la probabilité de visiter une route en cours de séjour. Ce cadre conceptuel fait ressortir douze hypothèses de recherche qui touchent les motivations touristiques, l’image associée aux routes, la notoriété et les caractéristiques sociodémographiques du répondant. En raison de la posture positiviste de l’étude, un questionnaire quantitatif autoadministré fut distribué auprès d’un panel de 16 000 répondants provenant des quatre marchés clés du Québec.
