De nos jours, les affaires électroniques sont essentielles pour diriger une entreprise florissante. La maîtrise et l'intégration de la technologie Internet sont aujourd'hui indispensables pour pouvoir faire face à la concurrence qui ne cesse de se renforcer avec la globalisation des marchés. C'est une question à laquelle fait aussi face l'industrie forestière du Québec. Une étude empirique sur les pratiques concernant les affaires électronique (AE) de l'industrie forestière au Québec menée en 2002 (Karuranga et al.) a rendu compte de l'état des pratiques en affaires électroniques de ce secteur. Les répondants se sont exprimés, entre autres, sur leurs perceptions à l'égard des affaires électroniques. Parmi ces répondants, certaines entreprises ont aujourd'hui adopté les affaires alors que d'autres non. Cette recherche vise à évaluer dans quelle mesure les perceptions initiales qu'ont exprimées les entreprises à l'égard des affaires électroniques en 2002 ont contribué ou non à l'adoption du e-business après cette date. Les résultats permettent de mieux comprendre le niveau d'adoption assez faible des AE par les entreprises de ce secteur. Les recommandations proposées par cette recherche permettront d'y remédier en ciblant les facteurs qui influent sur la propension à adopter les affaires électroniques.
