Le but de la présente recherche était de comprendre l'expérience d'intégration professionnelle d'infirmières immigrantes de minorités visibles1 travaillant dans un milieu de soins à Québec. Sept entrevues semi-dirigées et un journal de bord ont permis de dresser un portrait sommaire de l'expérience d'intégration professionnelle d'un infirmier et de six infirmières de la région. Notre analyse de données recueillies, guidée par le cadre théorique de Srivastava (2007), a fait ressortir quatre thèmes, appuyés par des patterns. Ces thèmes sont : s'engager à connaître l'autre, nourrir la relation interpersonnelle, faire face aux défis au quotidien et reconnaître les indices d'une intégration réussie. Les résultats de notre étude corroborent ceux de la littérature dans le sens que l'expérience d'intégration des professionnelles d'origines ethniques différentes de la région nécessite beaucoup d'investissement personnel de la part des personnes en interaction. Cela demande également le développement de la compétence culturelle, tant individuelle qu'organisationnelle. Les recommandations de cette étude visent à diminuer les embûches que peuvent rencontrer les futures professionnelles de la santé issues de minorités visibles.
