Abstract
Il volume presenta una sintesi dei lavori progettuali prodotti dagli studenti del Laboratorio di sintesi finale e alcune tesi di laurea sul progetto del museo, coordinati dall'autore e dal suo gruppo di ricerca. Di queste esperienze progettuali i materiali e gli elaborati presenti nel volume e in mostra, costituiscono solo una piccola parte di un numero più ampio di lavori sviluppati dagli studenti in questi ultimi anni sul tema del museo presso la facoltà di architettura “Aldo Rossi”. Sono presenti inoltre alcuni materiali analitici e di approfondimento teorico messi a punto dai docenti che rappresentano una delle premesse e l’integrazione di questi lavori. \nPer la prima volta vengono pubblicati integralmente i disegni di concorso per il Deutsches Historische Museum di Berlino progettato da Aldo Rossi e Oswald Mathias Ungers. Gli elaborati provengono dal Centre Canadien d'Architecture di Montreal, dal MAXXI di Roma e dall'archivio privato di Oswald Mathias Ungers di Colonia. \nIl progetto di un museo costituisce nel panorama dell’architettura contemporanea un tema cruciale e in particolare ha rappresentato, nell’esperienza dell’architettura del novecento, un tema molto importante. Uno dei motivi principali risiede nel fatto che attraverso il tema museale si è come costretti a riflettere sul senso e sul ruolo che svolge la memoria come componente ineliminabile della costruzione dell’identità di ognuno di noi. Ancor più come sfondo culturale necessario per la costruzione di una memoria collettiva indispensabile per consolidare e rendere trasmissibili i valori civili e le testimonianze materiali del passato.
