Abstract
VisionThe UIC Library aspires to be, and to be recognized as, the leading public academic research library in the Chicago metropolitan area.As an engaged provider of information services to students, faculty, staff and the community, the UIC Library is an integral partner in the University's mission of teaching, research, and practice. We will be a welcoming place, both physically and virtually, for students, faculty researchers, and citizens to engage in information seeking, research, and collaborative learning. We will be the premier public research collection in the Midwest for health care information and a primary resource for health care providers and consumers seeking health information resources. We will be a premier research collection on the history, government and culture of the City of Chicago and its region. We will be a leader in innovative uses of technology to improve resource and service delivery. We will be a leader in promoting collaboration with libraries and cultural organizations in the Chicago metropolitan area to ensure the preservation of and access to Chicago's rich intellectual and cultural heritage. We will be nimble in response to new opportunities and demands.
