Prevalencia da fibromialgia entre funcionarias administrativas e alunas do curso de graduacao em fisioterapia da Universidade Cuzeiro do Sul, em São Paulo/SP, no ano de 2001

Abstract
Objetivo: Estudar a prevalencia da Fibromialgia, em 55 funcionarias da area administrativa (grupo de estudo) e 55 alunas do curso de Fisioterapia (grupo controle) de uma universidade privada da regiao metropolitana de São Paulo e analisar os fatores pessoais e ambientais associados ao diagnostico da doenca. Metodos: Estudo-controle, tipo transversal, entre grupos de funcionarias administrativas e alunas de fisioterapia. As normas para o diagnostico obedecem ao American College of Rheumatology, com criterios de inclusao e exclusao, questionarios de investigacao, sobre dor de McGill, estresse, fadiga, readaptacao social, personalidade e exames medicos. Na analise estatistica utilizo-se o teste do Qui-quadrado (x2). Resultados: No grupo de estudo foi observada prevalencia de 27,0 por cento e 18,0 por cento no grupo controle. Estatisticamente percebeu-se que a prevalencia entre os grupos foi de 23,0 por cento. Nao foi notada associacao significante realizada pelos grupos, mas observou-se associacao estatistica significante entre fatores ambientais e, sobretudo, fatores pessoais no desenvolvimento no quadro denominado Fibromialgia. Conclusoes: O estudo permitiu concluir que, entre pessoas com diagnostico de Fibromialgia, e possivel observar associacao de fatores pessoais e ambientais que podem ser considerados como predispoe a sindrome. Com os criterios atuais de diagnostico de Fibromialgia, pessoas, potencialmente, normais podem receber o rotulo de doentes, apesar das variacoes nos questionarios de investigacoes
