Abstract
Background of Project: With the aim of promoting practice-based research, the Nursing Research Facilitators (NRFs) of Providence Health Care/Vancouver Coastal Health (PHC/VCH) and the Fraser Health Authority (FHA) developed and launched a research challenge for point of care practitioners. The respective research challenges provide opportunities for nurses and allied health professionals to engage in small research projects that will have a direct impact on their workplace. Winners of the research challenge are awarded grants and are provided comprehensive support by the NRFs, mentors, and other research support staff, throughout the duration of the project. \n \nPurpose and Findings: In this session, the NRFs for PHC/VCH and FHA will share their experiences in developing, launching, running and evaluating the research challenges, to illustrate successful initiatives in promoting practice-based research.
