Responsabilité sociale d'entreprise et modes d'engagement des employés : une perspective de storytelling

Abstract
Le présent mémoire cherche à comprendre comment favoriser l’engagement des employés envers l’intégration d’une stratégie de responsabilité sociale d’entreprise à l'intérieur de leur organisation. Nous regarderons aussi si une approche de storytelling peut être une stratégie valable pour comprendre et faciliter un tel changement organisationnel. Nous mènerons notre étude au sein de la firme de génie-conseil canadienne CIMA+ où nous avons interviewé 16 employés. Puisque la responsabilité sociale d’entreprise est un sujet très large, nous concentrerons notre analyse sur l’engagement des employés par rapport à l’implication communautaire de CIMA+ afin de tirer des conclusions sur la stratégie globale. Nous commencerons notre analyse en catégorisant les employés par groupe de réactions et niveau d’engagement en lien avec la stratégie de responsabilité sociale lesquels sont grandement influencés par des caractéristiques personnelles. Nous poursuivrons notre analyse d’une perspective fonctionnaliste qui sera ensuite comparée à une perspective déconstructionniste en vue d’identifier la polyphonie interne. Notre analyse nous permettra de faire plusieurs recommandations managériales destinées à toute entreprise qui souhaite promouvoir l’engagement de ses employés envers une nouvelle stratégie de RSE et donc d'en faciliter l’intégration. Nous soulèverons notamment l’importance d’une cohérence entre l’intention, la narration et les actions mises en place par l’entreprise. Nous avons aussi pu identifier trois éléments critiques pour favoriser l’engagement des employés envers la stratégie de responsabilité sociale de leur employeur, soit une compréhension commune, l’implication des employés et le sentiment d’avoir un impact significatif. De plus, l’engagement entre l’employeur et l’employé doit être à double sens. Nous conclurons donc qu’une approche de storytelling peut en effet favoriser l’engagement des employés par rapport à une stratégie de responsabilité sociale, mais plusieurs conditions doivent être prises en compte pour en assurer le succès. _____________________________________________________________________________ MOTS-CLÉS DE L’AUTEUR : Responsabilité sociale d’entreprise – Développement durable – Storytelling – Engagement – Employés
