Sosiaalinen kestävyys Suomen metsäbiotaloudessa

Abstract
Tämän kandidaatintyön tavoitteena on tarkastella Suomen metsäbiotaloudessa ilmenevää kestävän kehityksen sosiaalista ulottuvuutta. Työssä tarkastellaan sosiaalisen kestävyyden esiintyvyyttä, ilmenemismuotoja sekä sosiaalisen kestävyyden riittävyyttä Suomen metsäbiotalouden yhteydessä. Tarkastelu suoritetaan laadullisen tutkimusmenetelmän periaattein kirjallisuuskatsauksen avulla. Työssä esitellään Suomen metsätalouden kokonaiskuvaa ja sosiaalisen kestävyyden määritelmää. Sosiaalisen kestävyyden arvioinnissa analyysiaineistona käytetään Suomen kansallista biotalousstrategiaa 2014 ja Kansallista metsästrategiaa 2025. \n \nMetsien monikäyttö on merkittävä osa Suomen metsätaloutta ja metsien aineetonta hyödyntämistä. Lähtökohta on, että metsiä tulee hyödyntää ekologisesti, taloudellisesti, kulttuurisesti ja sosiaalisesti kestävällä tavalla. Metsien talouskäytön ja muun monikäytön tasavertainen huomioiminen on kuitenkin haastavaa. Erityisen haasteellista on metsän virkistyskäytön ja puuntuotannon yhteensovittaminen. Metsäbiotalous on Suomessa merkittävä vaurauden lähde, joka tuottaa yhteiskuntaa monin tavoin palvelevia sosiaalista kestävyyttä suosivia hyötyjä.
