Abstract
La presente investigación se realizó en el centro de prácticas San Isidro Labrador de la Universidad Nacional Agraria sede Regional Camoapa, el objetivo fue evaluar dos tipos de concentrados (El Ranchero y Purina) para la producción de pollos de engorde de la línea COBB 500.El experimento se realizó con un lote de 100 pollos de engorde, los cuales se dividieron en dos grupos de 50 pollos para cada Tratamiento. Los pollos presentaron un peso inicial promedio de 56.6 g. Se utilizó un diseño experimental completamente al azar (DCA). De las variables evaluadas se analizó que las mortalidades reportadas durante el ciclo productivo se asocian a bajas temperaturas (<28 °C) y a humedad relativa >70%. La mortalidad final del ensayo fue de 36% para El Ranchero y 2% para Purina. Se encontraron diferencias significativas en relación al análisis de ANDEVA(p<0.05) para GMD, conversión alimenticia. Para la sub variable rendimiento en canal no hubo diferencias significativas (p>0.05). La R/B-C determinó que: para el TI-El Ranchero se obtuvo una ganancia de 0.01 centavos por cada córdoba invertido, en cambio, el T II-Purina presentó una ganancia de 0.27 centavos por cada córdoba invertido. Se concluye que la mortalidad estuvo asociada a temperaturas bajas a nivel ambiental y de las camas, además de una humedad relativa elevada. El tratamiento Purina fue más eficiente que El Ranchero en todas las sub variables del comportamiento productivo, excepto el rendimiento en canal en donde no hubo diferencias significativas. La relación beneficio costo indica que el tratamiento con Purina es el más rentable. Se recomienda el uso de concentrado Purina para engorde de pollos de la línea COBB 500.
