Cette capsule s’appuie sur les résultats d’une \nétude exploratoire portant sur le travail de négociation des frontières « majoritaires/minoritaires » chez les jeunes adultes québécois issus \nde l’immigration en ce qui a trait à leurs orientations postsecondaires et professionnelles. Dans \nla littérature scientifique en contexte québécois, \nle passage au postsecondaire et au marché du \ntravail chez cette population a été peu étudié \nsous l’angle de la négociation des frontières \n« majoritaires/minoritaires ». Basé sur la \nméthode des récits de vie, le corpus qualitatif \ncomprend 25 jeunes adultes issus de \nl’immigration qui ont poursuivi des études postsecondaires et qui ont deux ans d’expérience sur \nle marché du travail montréalais. L’angle \ninterprétatif de l’étude rend compte des \nrelations sociales négociées et représentées \ndans le discours des jeunes adultes interrogés. \nLes résultats montrent que les vécus de \ndiscrimination (racisme, linguicisme, intolérance \nreligieuse) amènent plusieurs de ces jeunes \nadultes à se sentir exclus des Québécois \nfrancophones. Ces jeunes adultes tentent de \ns’intégrer dans les milieux anglophones afin de \ns’éloigner des milieux francophones.
