Revisión bibliográfica sobre intervenciones, abordajes e investigaciones de terapia ocupacional en adultos con cáncer

Abstract
[Resumen] Introducción: el cáncer es un conjunto de varias enfermedades que se caracterizan por el desarrollo anormal de las células. Para su tratamiento, se emplean técnicas como distintos tipos de quimioterapia o radioterapia que pueden tener efectos secundarios ya sean físicos, psicológicos o sociales. En la etapa adulta, se desempeñan diferentes ocupaciones que se pueden ver afectadas durante el proceso, afectando por lo tanto al desempeño ocupacional de estas personas. Objetivos: conocer intervenciones, abordajes e investigaciones de terapia ocupacional en las personas adultas con cáncer. Metodología: se ha llevado a cabo una revisión bibliográfica en diferentes bases de datos utilizando los descriptores “occupational therapy” y neoplasms. Una vez obtenidos los artículos de las diferentes bases de datos, se han eliminado los duplicados y seleccionado los documentos según los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Después de obtener los artículos finales, se estudian diferentes variables bibliométricas y temáticas. Resultados: los 34 artículos finales están repartidos en las cinco bases de datos de las que se han obtenido resultados. Los años de mayor producción científica son 2015 y 2014 y las revistas de TO donde existen más publicaciones son “The American Journal of Occupational Therapy” y “Canadian Journal of Occupational Therapy”. Destacan las intervenciones relacionadas con las actividades de la vida diaria. Conclusión: existencia de la TO en el ámbito de las personas adultas con cáncer. Importancia de seguir investigando e implementando la figura del terapeuta ocupacional en este campo.
