Les questions d’aménagement urbain préoccupent le mouvement communautaire de longue date. Les luttes face aux grandes opérations réalisées à l’échelle de quartiers entiers ont fait place à des interventions chirurgicales à l’échelle du site, engagées dans une logique partenariale et conduites sans entamer l’autonomie des acteurs communautaires. La vision " du quartier " s’impose et le programme de revitalisation urbaine intégrée (RUI) de Montréal se situe tout à fait dans ce courant de délégation vers le local et de mise en délibération publique des projets d’aménagement.

\nDans ce recueil, les termes de revitalisation urbaine et de concertation de quartier sont croisés afin de saisir ce curieux amalgame de partenariats institutionnalisés et d’engagements communautaires, de concertation de quartier et d’interventions portées à même l’espace vécu des résidents. Des contributions de chercheurs et d’acteurs du milieu sont ainsi réunies afin de rendre compte des expériences de revitalisation urbaine à Montréal (RUI), d’en expliquer les démarches et d’en approfondir les facteurs constitutifs. Quatre axes thématiques sont développés : le territoire et la concertation; les acteurs et le programme RUI; les pratiques et leurs effets; les dispositifs recherche université–communauté.
