Abstract
El replanteo de las tradicionales divisiones de la traducción con fines didácticos – traducción literaria y traducción especializada - a través de la lectura crítica de autores que han abordado el problema de la traducción desde distintas perspectivas, nos lleva a interesarnos particularmente en algunos enfoques comunicativos y socioculturales, es decir aquellos que ponen el acento en la función comunicativa de la traducción. El debate aparece siempre frente al problema de la manera en que el traductor actúa como mediador en la comunicación intercultural, en ese pasaje del significado entre una cultura y la otra, e incluso en la posición del traductor con respecto a la ideología. Siguiendo nuestra hipótesis de trabajo según la cual la actividad intelectual de traducción plantea problemas comunes cualquiera sea el género discursivo de partida, y específicos según la función que deba cumplir la traducción, abordaremos las teorías que involucran los estudios culturales y el polisistema literario como marco para analizar la posición de la literatura traducida y sus influencias en las literaturas nacionales. Esto es, los aportes de Holmes, Even-Zohar y Toury entre otros, en donde aparece la traducción como parte de un sistema o contexto superior que podrá llamarse cultura, polisistema literario o mundo.
