Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This dissertation aims to build a portrait of the goddess Athena from Homeric poems. The work was divided into chapters that sought to add passages from the Iliad and Odyssey around specific themes. In addition, we tried to present the position of several scholars on the topic, so that the analysis of the excerpts would gain strength. The study began by treating Athena's birth. In this case, other texts from the Greek archaic period were used, given that this theme is not widely explored by Homer. We also used references presented by Hesiod, Homeric Hymns and Pindar. Then, several epithets and atributes of the goddess were studied.Regarding the epithets we restricted ourselves to the ones used by Homer; as for the atributes we moved a little towards tradition, especially the recurring ones in Classical Athens. After that, we dealt with the goddess epiphanies and the various ways she usually showed herself to mortals. Her warrior aspect and her partnership with the heroes in the battle were discussed next.To contrast with this element of strength, we explored, then, her mental aspect and the metis. We also presented several situations in which the goddess poluboulos, of many councils, appears helping and encouraging her protegs.Nuances of the metis involving manual skills of which Athena is considered to be protective were also analyzed. Finally, we explored the theme of menis (the wrath of gods, which also covers punishment inflicted) and specifically the wrath of Athena, which prevented the return of many greek heroes after the end of the Trojan War.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
