Bibliographic record
Abstract
AbstractThe starting point of this paper is the verification of the wide variety of forms of atypical work. Atypical work refers to employment relationships not conforming to the standard or ”typical” model of full-time, regular, with a single employer over a long time span. This wide category comprises part time permanent employment, full or part time temporary employment, and full or part time independent employment (frequently called self-employed), as well as several of the mentioned forms found together. Atypical work applies to more than one third of the manpower in Québec and Canada. Among the forms that have whitnesed the deepest growth since the mid 70´s, temporary employment and independent individual employment with no employees are the most worth mentioning. The article deals with this topic descibing the strong points of the institutional frame following the development of the statutes of atypical employment. It later presents a brief outlook of research and methodology matters and shows the forms of organization and representation of the independent workers according to diverse “action rationales”.It ilustrates the way in which these rationales host several hints of diversification and renewal of institutions and actors of collective representation. Finally it concludes with the statement of some of the challenges that this diversification means for the labor union movement.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.

machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
