El análisis y estudio del comportamiento de los mercados financieros mediante la teoría de los ciclos económicos, genera y representa una herramienta adicional para inversores y público en general, que busquen en el mercado de renta variable una oportunidad de inversión.
\nA partir de la globalización e integración de las Bolsa de valores de todo el mundo, el dinamismo de los agentes económicos en sus decisiones y la consecuente volatilidad, cada vez es más difícil encontrar y comprender el movimiento real de los mercados financieros.
\nEsta investigación busca determinar el componente cíclico de la Bolsa de Valores de Colombia entre el año 2001 a 2016, para lo cual se sustentara en la teoría de ciclos económicos y la teoría de series de tiempo, aprovechando en los dos casos las fluctuaciones propias de las economías basadas en el capital. La metodología utilizada es el filtro de Hodrick Prescott el cual es uno de los métodos estadísticos más utilizado y fácil de aplicar e interpretar, determinando y analizando las fases de auge, recesión, depresión y recuperación presentes en los mercados financieros, determinando así la dirección real del ciclo bursátil y la relación existente con el ciclo económico Colombiano
