La pandémie de COVID-19 a eu un grand nombre d’impacts qui ont été ressentis sur toute la planète. Une telle crise majeure bouleverse inévitablement le quotidien des individus partout à travers le monde, mais elle est aussi une occasion de nourrir la recherche et d’affiner la compréhension des phénomènes sociaux qui émergent en période de crise. L’objectif de cette étude est de mieux comprendre l’expérience d’étudiants universitaires québécois pendant cette période trouble, plus particulièrement comment ils ont adapté leurs pratiques communicationnelles et informationnelles durant la pandémie de COVID-19. Pour répondre à ce questionnement, des entretiens qualitatifs ont été menés auprès de deux groupes d’étudiants, soit des étudiants provenant de l’ensemble de la province et des étudiants de l’Université de Sherbrooke uniquement, dans le cadre d’une démarche méthodologique qualitative et inductive. Les données recueillies mettent principalement en exergue que la vie sociale et académique des personnes étudiantes, tout comme les rapports avec les autorités publiques et l’information en circulation, ont été particulièrement marqués par les technologies de communication numériques. En outre, le retour aux sources primaires a été priorisé à de nombreuses occasions afin de, notamment, faire face à un flux élevé et incessant d’informations. Les conséquences des telles implications sont aussi étudiées dans cette recherche.
