Darbā raksturotas tūbainā rododendra Rhododendron tomentosum Harmaja viengadīgu veģetatīvo un ģeneratīvo dzinumu uzbūves īpašības, salīdzināti katra dzinuma apikālā un bazālā gala fragmenti. Dzinumi ievākti trīs dažādās audzēs, lai noskaidrot vides faktoru – klimatisko apstākļu un augsnes sastāva iespējamo ietekmi primārajā un sekundārajā augšanā. Viengadīgajiem dzinumiem izmērīts gada pieaugums, bet iegūtajiem griezumiem mērīti astoņi raksturlielumi. Dzinumi bija garāki un resnāki augot skābā augsnē , mērenos meteoroloģiskajos apstākļos Apšuciemā. Mazāki izmēri raksturīgi Teiču purvā ievāktajiem paraugiem, kur pēc meteoroloģiskajiem novērojumiem gads bijis nokrišņiem bagāts un applūšana visticamāk ietekmējusi barības vielu uzņemšanu un augšanu. Ģeneratīvie dzinumi ir garāki par veģetatīvajiem dzinumiem, tie balsta ziedu vainagu, kam nepieciešama lielāka mehāniskā izturība, labāka pieejamība apputeksnētājiem. Apikālā gala griezumu fragmentiem raksturīga samērā bieza primārā miza, daudz dziedzermatiņu un jauno pumpuru, savukārt bazālā gala griezumu fragmentiem jau attīstījies biezāks sekundārās koksnes slānis.
