Cette recherche propose un programme d’intervention en musicothérapie auprès d’élèves immigrants et réfugiés en classe d’accueil au Québec (Canada). La crise migratoire et les déplacements de population amènent une croissance de la proportion d’élèves issus de l’immigration dans le réseau scolaire. La recherche met en lumière à la fois l’importance du rôle de l’école dans la promotion de la santé mentale et le manque de ressources, notamment pour des interventions psychosociales adaptées. Bien qu’un grand nombre d’élèves réfugiés soient résilients, ils sont à risque de développer des troubles psychosociaux, et beaucoup d’entre eux développent des difficultés d’adaptation scolaire. Un programme d’intervention en musicothérapie est proposé ici, considérant que ces élèves rencontrent plus de défis dans leur cheminement scolaire que ceux nés au Canada et que les barrières de la langue freinent l’accès à des services de soutien psychosocial. Ce programme vise à soutenir ces jeunes à une étape cruciale de leur développement, en favorisant leur bien-être, leur sentiment d’appartenance à la classe d’accueil, leur capacité d’adaptation et, enfin, leur intégration scolaire et sociale. Ce programme s’appuie sur les valeurs d’inclusion et de justice sociale de la musicothérapie communautaire, cette dernière privilégiant une approche systémique, prenant en compte le rapport entre l’individu et son environnement. Cette recherche théorique se limite aux deux premières étapes d’un modèle de recherche-intervention, malgré l’importance évidente des trois autres étapes qui pourraient être complétées dans une future démarche.
