rapport présente la liste hiérarchisée des habitats benthiques de La Réunion et leurs 87 fiches descriptives. Ce travail correspond à la mise à jour de l’ensemble des unités concernant La Réunion inventoriées dans la typologie des habitats marins des départements d’outre-mer (Guillaume et al., 1997, révisée en 2019 par Grellier). À la suite des données et observations recueillies au cours de différents projets et initiatives scientifiques réalisés sur l’île depuis 2019 mais aussi du remodelage de la classification (passage de deux niveaux de classification à cinq), 40 unités supplémentaires ont été décrites et 11 unités supprimées.La structure hiérarchique de la typologie repose sur la méthode normalisée de classification de l’Ifrecor qui a cependant été adaptée aux spécificités du territoire. Au total, la typologie regroupe 220 unités avec cinq niveaux de hiérarchisation :1 - l’étage combiné à la nature du substrat.2 - le contexte récifal.3a - la géomorphologie, pour les habitats de substrat dur et les habitats de substrat meuble en milieu récifal.3b - le type de substrat pour les habitats de substrat meuble en milieu non récifal.4 - les peuplements dominants.5 - l’habitat.Ce document comprend également une présentation du territoire et des grands types d’habitats benthiques présents à La Réunion, trois transects illustrant la succession typique d’habitats de la côte vers le large dans différents secteurs ainsi qu’une table de correspondance indiquant le devenir des unités de la typologie des habitats marins des départements d’outre-mer dans cette nouvelle typologie.
