Abstract
Práce pojednává o zdanění příjmů fyzických osob v České republice a ve Velké Británii. Je pojednáno o historii daní a jejich úloze v ekonomice, jsou provedeny deskripce základních pojmů z oblasti daní a daňových systémů, které jsou obecně platné. Dále je krátce pojednáno o daňové kvótě v souvislosti s poukázáním na konkrétní ukazatel odlišnosti daňových systémů států EU se zaměřením na přímé daně. Jsou podrobně charakterizovány daňové systémy České Republiky a Velké Británie se zaměřením na zdanění fyzických osob, které spadá mezi přímé daně. Praktické uplatnění poznatků je provedeno na porovnání daňového zatížení a odvodů zaměstnanců a zaměstnavatele ve třech vybraných srovnatelných povoláních a s třemi odlišnými úrovněmi hrubé mzdy odvíjející se od příslušné úrovně průměrné hrubé mzdy v konkrétní komparované ekonomice. Výstupem je formulování rozdílů v daňovém zatížení a odvodů u každé z vybraných úrovní hrubé mzdy a formulace výhod a nevýhod úrovně zdanění a odvodů v českém daňovém systému.
