Associação entre bruxismo e falhas mecânicas e biológicas na implantodontia: revisão sistemática e metanálise

Abstract
Introdução: O papel do bruxismo como fator etiológico de falhas biológicas e/ou falhas mecânicas de implantes tem sido estudado na literatura com resultados controversos, e mais estudos de revisão precisam ser feitos. Objetivos: Este estudo teve por objetivos a avaliação da relação entre bruxismo com falhas mecânicas e/ou biológicos de implantes na odontologia. Métodos: Uma revisão sistemática foi realizada nas bases de dados PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, Lilacs, Web Of Science, Scielo, Cinahl e Cochrane Central. Adicionalmente, uma busca manual e na literatura cinza foi também realizada. Os estudos foram estudos observacionais analíticos de caso-controle e cohorte, com 3 revisores independentes. A análise qualitativa foi feita através do Ottawa-Newcastle Scale. O sistema de estrelas do NOS foi usado na análise de qualidade. Resultados:A busca originou 804 artigos, e houve a exclusão de duplicatas de acordo com os critérios de elegibilidade, e 93 artigos foram selecionados para leitura de texto completo. Destes, 30 foram incluídos no trabalho final e 10 foram incluídos na metanálise. No total, 40 artigos foram incluídos para a revisão sistemática.Os resultados indicam uma relação positiva entre bruxismo e falhas biológicas e mecânicas de implantes, apesar da má qualidade dos estudos incluídos. Limitações: Dados ausentes, pouca descrição da amostra, ausência de dados para controles somente para casos, heterogeneidade dos tipos de implantes e tipos de casos utilizados em diferentes tipos de estudo. Conclusões: Os resultados indicam uma relação positiva entre bruxismo e falhas biológicas e mecânicas de implantes.
