La presente investigación se efectuó en la ciudad de Trujillo; se realizó el análisis comparativo del estado de conservación superficial mediante los métodos PASER y PCI de la carretera Moche y Salaverry. Se empleó un diseño no experimental, transversal y de nivel descriptivo. La población fue la carretera Moche y Salaverry, siendo un pavimento flexible de 8 Km. de longitud; para el tamaño de muestra se utilizó una técnica de muestreo no probabilístico por juicio de experto, evaluando 60 unidades de muestra. Se aplicó la técnica de la Observación para la recolección de datos, los instrumentos fueron las hojas de fichas de datos y se dispuso la estadística descriptiva para el análisis de datos. Algunas vías de la ciudad presentan fallas superficiales debido a la falta de evaluación del estado de conservación y no se realiza el mantenimiento, dificultando la transitabilidad. Las fallas recurrentes obtenidas mediante método PASER y PCI fueron las grietas transversales con porcentaje de 47.22% y 45.70% respectivamente y las grietas longitudinales con porcentaje de 38.25% y 36.27% respectivamente. Se logró realizar el análisis comparativo del estado de conservación superficial de la carretera, estimando que por el método PCI se encuentra en estado Muy Bueno y por el método PASER en estado Bueno.
