Abstract
Objective: To systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of the anticoagulation practice in the reduction of thromboembolism during the oxygenation of the venous-arterial extracorporeal membrane (ECMO) in adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery.Material and Methods: Design a systematic review, quantitative type.The population 80 articles, the sample 10 scientific articles, from the databases: Pub Med, Wolters Kluwer, Ovid insights.Methodological design 20% systematic review, 20% systematic review, metaanalysis and series of cases, 40% cohorts, 20% cases and controls according to the quality of the evidence 40% high and 60% moderate.According to the strength of strong recommendation 40% and weak 60%., According to the country of origin of evidence: Italy 40%, Canada 20%, United Kingdom 10%, Korea 10%, Germany 10% and United States 10% respectively. Results:The 10% (n = 1/10) of the articles indicate the effectiveness of the anticoagulation practice in the reduction of thromboembolism during the oxygenation of the venous-arterial extracorporeal membrane (ECMO) in adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery.30% (n = 3/10) indicate the concordance of the anticoagulation practice but not the effectiveness.60% (n = 6/10) of the articles disagree. Conclusion:We conclude that 10% reported the effectiveness of the anticoagulation practice in the reduction of thromboembolism during the oxygenation of the venous-arterial extracorporeal membrane (ECMO) in adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery.30% indicate the coincidence of the anticoagulation practice but not the effectiveness.60% disagree, due to the quality of the limited studies.
