Comme le réseau central d'Hydro-Québec n'est pas étendu sur l'ensemble du territoire québécois, certaines communautés doivent s'alimenter de façon autonome en électricité. Dans ces réseaux autonomes, principalement situés au Nunavik, des centrales au diesel fournissent l'électricité aux habitations, alors que le chauffage est produit par des installations individuelles au mazout. Puisque l'électricité est incluse dans les loyers des logements et que le mazout est subventionné, il existe un possible problème de surconsommation découlant de cette situation et propose un nouveau modèle de facturation de l'énergie pour gérer de façon plus efficiente la demande et ainsi réduire les émissions de GES produites en trop. Ce travail produit une analyse théorique du modèle de facturation actuelle et la compare avec le nouveau modèle de facturation proposée. Les analyses du problème du ménage permettent ces comparaisons et leurs interprétations. Par la suite, des simulations numériques sont effectuées pour caractériser la meilleure réponse, en termes d'économies d'énergie, du ménage ciblé face à la contribution en économies d'énergie d'un autre ménage. Le modèle proposé innove par le fait qu'il traite les économies d'énergie réalisées comme une contribution à un bien public, qui par la suite bénéficie à l'ensemble de la population. Ce bien public, lorsque valorisé par les ménages, les motive à réaliser des économies d'énergie et rend le modèle de facturation plus juste.
