Abstract
El artículo "Beyond Barriers: Library Initiatives Pave the Way for Student Accessibility" destaca iniciativas de accesibilidad en las bibliotecas de la Universidad de Toronto. Todo comenzó cuando una estudiante con baja visión tuvo dificultades para usar los torniquetes de acceso. Hujma Chowdhury, bibliotecaria de Accesibilidad y Recursos Compartidos, colaboró con el Instituto Nacional Canadiense para Ciegos para crear pegatinas transparentes en braille que se adhieren a las tarjetas TCard, facilitando el acceso de estudiantes con discapacidad visual. Este proyecto se ha expandido a los campus de Mississauga y Scarborough. El trabajo de Chowdhury se enfoca en proporcionar adaptaciones de accesibilidad para estudiantes registrados en Servicios de Accesibilidad, como la creación de formatos accesibles, la digitalización de libros y la conversión de materiales.
