Abstract
Integrated learning in Estonia state upper secondary schools: prevalence, practises and teacher's beliefsThe aim of the master's thesis was to determine the prevalence of integrated learning in Estonian state upper secondary schools, to identify and understand which organizational and teacher-related factors facilitate or hinder the implementation, and to examine the solutions employed by schools that actively practice integrated learning.Data was collected via a survey, which was completed by 18 state upper secondary schools, followed by semi-structured interviews with participants from four of those schools.A sequential explanatory mixed-methods design was used for data analysis.Results show that at least one quarter of Estonian state upper secondary schools regularly integrate their curricula, and that teachers regard organizational support and a collaborative professional community as crucial enablers of successful integrated learning.
