Abstract
OTİSTİK VE NORMAL ÇOCUK SAHİBİ ANNE BABALARIN BAZI PSİKİYATRİK VE PSİKOLOJİK ÖZELLİKLERİNİN KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI\nBu araştırmanın amacı, otistik ve normal çocukları olan anne ve babaların bazı psikiyatrik ve psikolojik özellikleri arasında farklılık olup olmadığını incelemektir.\nİstanbul ili içerisinde yaşayan Otistik Bozukluk tanısı almış 3 – 18 yaş arası çocukların anne babaları, aynı yaş grubunda normal gelişim gösteren çocukların anne babaları ve Otistik Bozukluk tanısı almış 86 çocuk araştırmanın çalışma grubunu oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmaya toplam 129 anne ile 121 baba katılmıştır. Anne babalara Anket Soruları, Beck Depresyon Envanteri, Ruhsal Belirti Tarama Envanteri (SCL-90) ve Toronto Aleksitimi Ölçeği (TAS) uygulanmış, çıkan sonuçlar 2 grup (otistik çocuk anne babaları, normal çocuk anne babaları ) arasında karşılaştırılarak incelenmiştir. Otistik ya da normal çocuk sahibi anne babaların aleksitimi puanları arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır (p=0,650). Anne ve babalar arasındaki karşılaştırmalarda, aleksitimi düzeyinde anlamlı farklılık bulunmamıştır. Özellikle anneler için otistik bir çocuğa sahip olmak, kalıcı birtakım duygulara yol açabilmekte, bu duygular anne babaların kişilik özelliklerini etkileyebilmektedir. Anne babaların sahip oldukları psikolojik ve psikiyatrik özelliklerin bir kısmı otizm fenotipi olarak açıklanabilirken diğer bir kısmı otistik çocuk yetiştirmenin zorluklarıyla açıklanabilmektedir. Araştırmamızın sınırları nedeniyle bu ayrım henüz yapılamamakla birlikte, araştırma daha ileri araştırmaların yapılmasına ışık tutabilecek niteliktedir. \nAnahtar Kelimeler : Otistik çocuklar, anne babalar, aleksitimi\n ABSTRACT\nTHE COMPARISON BETWEEN SOME PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PSYCHIATRIC PARAMETERS OF THE FAMILIES WHO HAVE AUTISTIC AND NORMAL CHILDREN\nThe aim of this research is to examine if there is any difference between the depression levels, some psychological and psychiatric parameters and alexithymia of families who have autistic children or normal children. This research group consists of the parents who have children with autistic children aged three to eighteen years old and the parents who have normal healthy growing children at the same ages and eighty-six children who have autism diagnoses. This research totally includes 129 mothers and 119 fathers. A research questionnaire specially prepared for this study, Beck Depression Scale, Symptom Distress Check List (SCL-90) and Toronto Alexithmia Scale (TAS) are administered to parents and the results are statistically examined in two different groups of families (the parents who have autistic children, and the parents with a normal child). The scores of the parents are also compared with each other. There was not a significant difference between the alexithmia points of parents who had autistic children or normal children (p=0, 650). When the mothers were compared with the fathers, none of the groups displayed significant results. Especially for mothers to have an autistic child causes some permanent consequences upon their emotional make up. These changes in their emotions may eventually affect the character of parents. Although many psychological and psychiatric features of parents are explained as a part of autism phenotype, the difficulty of growing an autistic child as a factor affecting the parents is obviously the other side of the coin. Because of the limitations of our research, we couldn’t make a definitive conclusion in favor of one of these two ideas however this research will hopefully foster interest for embarking new researches.\nKey Words : Autistic children, mothers and fathers, alexithymia
