Abstract
Lex Electronica, vol.13 n°2 (Automne / Fall 2008) Le présent texte fait suite à une conférence donnée dans le cadre du colloque De certains défis en santé publique à l'aube du XXI e siècle, tenu lors du 76 e Congrès de l'Acfas, organisé à Québec le 6 mai 2008.Bien qu'au Canada, on attribue l'attention accrue sur la capacité en santé publique aux événements associés au syndrome respiratoire aigu sévère (SRAS) de 2003, plusieurs autres défis en santé publique -outre les épizooties -ont fait surface et continueront de se manifester, présentant ainsi diverses menaces infectieuses et non infectieuses pour la santé.Le Canada, comme beaucoup d'autres pays, doit parvenir à maintenir et améliorer la capacité de pallier ces multiples défis.Au cours des dernières années, le renforcement de l'infrastructure en santé publique a pris de l'ampleur, y compris en matière d'accords interjuridictionnels, de recherche, de transfert et d'application des connaissances, de systèmes d'information et de main-d'oeuvre.
