Introduction : TIC et faible littératie, quelle place pour une critique ?La Fondation pour l'alphabétisation rapporte qu'en 2005, « près d'un Québécois sur deux (âgé de 16 à 65 ans) n'a pas les compétences nécessaires pour utiliser l'information afin de fonctionner pleinement au sein de la société et de l'économie » (Fondation pour l'alphabétisation, 2012).C'est dans ce contexte que le projet de recherche INTEGRA-Littératie Québec 1 a été réalisé par l'équipe de recherche de Communautique, mandatée par le ministère des Services gouvernementaux 2 dans le cadre du programme Appui au passage à la société de l'information 3 .Si la proposition initiale soumise au bailleur de fonds avait pour objectif premier de mesurer « ce qu'apportent les technologies de l'information et de la communication (TIC) aux personnes à faible littératie » (Dagenais, Poirier et Quidot, 2012), l'équipe de chercheurs a eu grand peine à éviter l'écueil du déterminisme technologique du projet initial et à recentrer plus judicieusement 1 Le projet « L'inclusion numérique telle qu'expérimentée par des groupes d'adultes à faible littératie au Québec » (INTEGRA-Littératie Québec) a été réalisé par l'équipe de recherche de Communautique entre 2009 et 2011.Communautique est un organisme communautaire dont la mission est de soutenir la participation citoyenne en favorisant la maîtrise de l'information et l'appropriation des technologies numériques.Ce projet a été rendu possible grâce à l'appui financier du Secrétariat du Conseil du trésor (SCT). 2 Le ministère des Services gouvernementaux est passé sous l'égide du Conseil du trésor en 2010.3 Le programme Appui au passage à la société de l'information offre une aide financière à des projets et à des organismes qui favorisent l'accès à Internet et aux technologies de l'information à toute la population québécoise.
