Como muchas otras lenguas, dentro de la lengua francesa existen muchos dialectos, entre ellos el dialecto de Quebec. Los dialectos suelen ver pequeñas particularidades que hacen que esa lengua sea interesante de analizar. En este caso, el francés de Quebec ve algunos cambios en muchos de los aspectos lingüísticos que lo forman. Podemos ver cambios significativos por ejemplo en la pronunciación gracias a los cambios en la longitud de las vocales, la diptongación de las vocales largas, otros aspectos como las diferentes realizaciones de algunas vocales, la armonía vocálica y la palatalización de las dentales /d/ y /t/. De la misma forma vemos cambios en la morfología, ya que este dialecto hace uso de prefijos y sufijos para crear palabras que no se ven en la lengua estándar. Dentro de la sintaxis el francés de Quebec llega a hacer uso de algunos adjetivos como si fuesen adverbios, además de usar verbos transitivos sin complemento. También estamos ante una lengua que, gracias al contacto directo con otras lenguas, en gran parte con la lengua inglesa de Estados Unidos, hace uso de un léxico totalmente diferente al de la lengua francesa estándar. <br /><br />
