İmgenin Pornografisi (Metis, 2003) ve Kötülük Cemaatleri (Tekhne, 2016) adlı kitapların yazarı, sanat kuramcısı ve imgebilimci Zeynep Sayın’ın yeni kitabı Ölüm Terbiyesi Metis Yayınları’ndan (2018) çıktı. Görsel sanatlar teorisine dair yaptığı çalışmalarıyla Sayın’ın eserleri sanat felsefesi literatüründe önemli bir yer teşkil etmektedir. Önsözde belirtildiği üzere bu kitap, yazarın Türkiye’de noksanlığını müşahede ettiği en önemli şey olan “ölüm ve imge ahlakı” olarak adlandırdığı terbiyeye işaret etmek üzere kaleme alınmıştır. Metin içerisinde ölüme ilişkin bir ahlakın nasıl kurgulanacağına dair belli işaretlerde bulunan Sayın, ölüsüne saygısızlık yapılan ve bir mezara ait olmanın kendisinden esirgendiği kişilere karşı geliştirilen bu tutuma, üzeri örtülen bir tarihle, bilhassa da İslam düşünce geleneğinin tecrübesiyle cevap vereceğini belirtmektedir.
