Charissa Cordon, docteure en éducation, infirmière, enseignante et leader, travaille dans les soins de santé depuis une vingtaine d’années. Elle a récemment été nommée vice-présidente associée à la pratique et à la formation du réseau hospitalier William Osler Health System. Elle a occupé plusieurs autres postes de leadership, notamment ceux de directrice d’une équipe encadrant la pratique professionnelle et les ressources cliniques, de cheffe de la pratique infirmière, et de cheffe de la pratique interprofessionnelle. Forte de sa riche expérience, notamment en tant que leader du changement transformationnel en soins infirmiers, elle a dirigé plusieurs initiatives locales, provinciales et nationales. M(me) Cordon a prononcé le discours d’ouverture de la conférence annuelle de l’ACIO/CANO 2023. À cette occasion, elle a fait part d’expériences personnelles qui ont construit ses valeurs et ses principes en tant que leader. Elle a aussi expliqué comment elle puise dans sa force intérieure pour exercer un leadership inspirant et positif en temps de crise. Aujourd’hui, alors que se poursuivent les efforts de relance post-pandémie, les infirmières et les leaders en soins infirmiers doivent continuer à travailler de concert pour soutenir les membres qui font leurs débuts dans la profession. Nous devons, encore et toujours, nous aider et nous motiver entre nous, encourager les leaders de demain et agir de manière positive et inspirante. En temps de crise, il nous faut nous appuyer sur nos forces, tant individuelles que collectives.
