Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

IE TCD MS 9385/1299: Letter from Joseph Soames, Soames Edwards, 58 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London, England to Matthew Evanson O'Brien dated 29th March 1893 referencing the premium on his policies and mortagage arrears: "I have made enquiry with regard to the Policies and it seems to me they are hardly worth keeping up. The premium on your Policy is £10.9.8 a year and that on Mrs. O'Brien's £5.16.8 and the surrender value of yours is not more than about £10 and Mrs. O'Brien's about £5 or in other words about a third of the premiums paid. If there is any special reason why either Policy should be kept up let me know and I will reconsider the matter. I have been in communication with the Building Society and have received from them the statement which I enclose you a copy showing £466.17.9 as being due on this mortgage or in other words whilst you borrowed £500 originally and have paid off about £150 £460 still remain due. This shows you that to borrow money of a Building Society is a very dear way unless you carry the transaction through. If this large sum has to be paid I fear there is no security for a further advance as the margin of rent would not be much more than sufficient if more than sufficient - to make allowances for empty houses pay the ground rent repairs and landlord's taxes. I shall be glad to hear from you also as to this." Accompanied by IE TCD MS 9385/1299a, "Mrs. L.A. O'Briens Redemption March 28th 1893", a ledger balance for folio [?]25, 1893. Dublin-born Matthew Evanson O'Brien (1842-1911) was a lawyer; he died and was buried in Wetaskiwin Cemetery, Wetaskiwin, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Joseph Soames was the solicitor for the Times newspaper for the Parnell Special Commission proceedings.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
