Abstract
Dans une station aride au sud-est du Manitoba � on a etudie le rendement du pin gris (Pinus banksiana Lamb.) seme et pZante sur des bandes scarifiees et coupees a bZanc etoc. La moyenne de germination sur Zes bandes variait de 6 a 36%. La germination a ete Za pZus affectee par Zes conditions atmospheriques ordinaires (Za precipitation et Za temperature) � tandis que Za mortaZite etait attribuee davantage aux conditions micro-cZimatiques. La germination etait superieure sur Ze versant nord et a Za base de Za pente a face nord dans Zes rigoZes des couches a semis � mais Za mortaZite n'y etait pas moindre que dans Zes autres couches a semis. Dans certaines couches a semis sur Ze versant nord on a remarque une croissance raZentie. Les effets de Za bordure du peupZement sur Z'etabZissement et Za croissance des semis etaient apparents sur une distance inferieure a 20 m. La chaZeur � Za secheresse et Za fonte comptaient parmi Zes principaZes causes de mortaZi�6; mais3 dans un bon nombre de cas on n'a pu etabZir Zes causes de mortaZite etant donne que Zes semis avaient ete enZeves par des agents non identifies. La station aride offre tres peu pour Z'ensemencement a Za voZee; c'est Za pZantation qui demeure Za meiZZeure methode de regene ration. La survie des semis pZantes s'averait bonne a exceZZente tous Zes ans et sur tous Zes versants. L'etude ne suggerait aucunement une superiorite de Za coupe a blanc etoc par bandes sur Za coupe a bZanc etoc parcelZaire.
