Bakalaura darba nosaukums ir “Rīgas strūklakas kā pilsētvides elements un to apsaimniekošana”.\nDarba mērķis ir novērtēt Rīgas strūklakas no vides kvalitātes viedokļa, kā arī izvērtēt strūklaku apsaimniekošanas problēmas un sniegt rekomendācijas iespējamajiem risinājumiem.\nMērķa sasniegšanai 2013. un 2014. gada vasarās tika apsekotas septiņas Rīgas darbojošās strūklakas, veikta strūklakas apmeklējošo cilvēku uzskaite un fotodokumentācija. Balstoties uz Toronto reģionālās Dabas aizsardzības pārvaldes izstrādāto metodi, noteikta strūklaku ūdens estētiskā kvalitāte. 2014. gada vasarā novērtēta strūklaku ūdens fizikāli – ķīmiskā kvalitāte.\nPašreizējie rezultāti liecina, ka cilvēku visvairāk apmeklētās Rīgas strūklakas ir Ziedoņdārzā un pie Kongresu nama, un šīm strūklakām ir salīdzinoši sliktākā estētiskā vides kvalitāte (strūklaku ūdens ir duļķains un tajā sastopami atkritumi). Strūklaku ūdens fizikāli – ķīmiskā kvalitāte liecina par iespējamu infekciju izraisītāju klātbūtni. Ūdenī nav sastopams hlors, pH ir paaugstināts un ūdens temperatūra ir lielāka par 20 oC, kas rada labvēlīgu vidi mikroorganismu attīstībai. Šobrīd Rīgas strūklaku apsaimniekošana nav pietiekama, lai nodrošinātu strūklaku ūdens atbilstību kvalitatīvai videi.
