Abstract

We are a group of 4 students who completed a replication study for a Research Methods Lab in Social Psychology class at McGill University. This is a replication of Cameron et al. [2019] Empathy is hard work. Our additional measure included a subjective time perception variable looking at how trait empathy influences an individual's subjective experience of time during a cognitively demanding task. Our final sample consisted of 64 participants recruited through the McGill University SONA participant pool. Our replication was successful with results reflecting those of the original study. Our additional hypothesis was not supported with results being statistically insignificant.
