Ce mémoire de maîtrise porte sur une expérience doublement minoritaire, celle d’être lesbienne, queer, bisexuelle ou pansexuelle et une personne racisée. Cette recherche aborde l’appropriation spatiale et les espaces de sociabilité de personnes au croisement de ces deux identités. Une méthodologie qualitative a été utilisée pour aborder cette question, l’analyse ayant été menée à partir de 10 entrevues avec des participantes s’identifiant aux communautés lesboqueer et au statut de minorité visible. Les participantes devaient résider dans le Grand Montréal et être en mesure de s’exprimer en français ou en anglais. Cette recherche amène un regard intersectionnel aux questions des processus de territorialisation des communautés. Il permet également d’apporter un regard sur l’expérience d’être une personne racisée au sein des espaces de sociabilité lesboqueer grand public. Inscrit dans une perspective phénoménologique, ce mémoire part du vécu individuel des participantes pour analyser la façon dont leurs identités personnelles se projettent sur le territoire. Les résultats pointent vers un impact important de la gentrification sur la dispersion résidentielle des communautés, à l’extérieurs des quartiers typiquement identifiés comme des lieux de sociabilité pour les communautés LGBTQ+. Une difficulté à intégrer des identités souvent perçues comme mutuellement exclusives souligne également l’importance d’analyser l’occupation des communautés dans l’espace urbain sous une lentille intersectionnelle. Les résultats reflètent une difficulté pour les communautés lesboqueer racisées à trouver des lieux de sociabilité ouverts à la diversité sexuelle et sécurisants du point de vue de leurs autres identités.
