Abstract
La campagne électorale québécoise de 2022 fut notamment reconnue pour l’entrée en scène du Parti conservateur du Québec. Le parti connut une montée en popularité fulgurante depuis la nomination de son nouveau chef, Éric Duhaime, l’année d’avant. Son discours populiste et axé sur la défense des libertés individuelles semblait retentir dans la province. Les propos hostiles à l’imposition de mesures sanitaires en contexte de pandémie de COVID-19 répondaient à un mécontentement populaire grandissant envers ces lois exceptionnelles. Pourtant, le parti bénéficiait encore d'un appui considérable à la suite de la fin de l’état d'urgence sanitaire. Ce mémoire cherche donc à comprendre, par le biais d’entretiens semi-dirigés avec 19 partisans conservateurs, comment le discours du PCQ parvint à mobiliser le vote. L’analyse des propos de ces électeurs révèle que l’attrait de cette formation politique reposait principalement sur son habileté à canaliser des opinions préétablies sur la primauté des libertés individuelles en démocratie, notamment au niveau de l’économie et de la gestion de la crise du coronavirus. Plusieurs des répondants sont d’ailleurs d’anciens électeurs de la Coalition Avenir Québec insatisfaits par le bilan du gouvernement lors de son premier mandat.
