Le présent travail explore l’utilisation d’une stimulation berçante continue durant la nuit, une approche de recherche émergente qui suscite un intérêt croissant en raison de ses effets potentiels sur la qualité du sommeil et la consolidation de la mémoire, via la modulation des fuseaux de sommeil et des ondes lentes. Dix-neuf jeunes adultes en bonne santé ont testé un prototype de lit berceur conçu et fabriqué à Montréal, au Canada, pendant trois nuits consécutives. Comparée à deux nuits stationnaires consécutives, la stimulation berçante n’a montré aucun effet significatif, ni positif ni négatif, sur la consolidation de la mémoire. Cependant, lors de la première nuit, elle a eu un certain impact négatif sur l’architecture du sommeil et les ondes cérébrales, bien qu’elle ait réussi à entrainer les ondes lentes. Au cours des nuits suivantes, une amélioration progressive de la qualité du sommeil a été observée, suggérant un effet d’accoutumance à la stimulation. Les résultats soulignent l’importance d’une conception soignée des prototypes de lits berceurs, en particulier la fluidité du mouvement et le niveau sonore, des éléments qui n’avaient pas été suffisamment pris en compte auparavant. Cette étude montre que ces facteurs peuvent avoir un impact considérable sur l’efficacité de la stimulation berçante, ce qui a des implications importantes pour la conception de futurs prototypes.
