Les étudiants internationaux rencontrent plusieurs défis dans le processus d'adaptation psychosociale aux études universitaires. Ces défis peuvent être de nature sociale, académique, vocationnelle ou psychologique. Cette étude vise à décrire le processus d'adaptation psychosociale dans un contexte d'acculturation, chez des étudiants internationaux inscrits dans un programme universitaire dans une université canadienne. En se basant sur une méthodologie qualitative, sept entrevues semi-structurées ont été analysées selon une approche thématique. Les résultats décrivent les défis sur le plan socioculturel, académique, vocationnel et psychologique, ainsi que les stratégies d'adaptation mobilisées par les participants pour faire face à ces défis. L'étude met en lumière la dynamique multidimensionnelle du processus d'adaptation psychosociale aux études universitaires et souligne l'apport de l'acculturation au sein de ce processus. Enfin, l'étude propose un modèle d'adaptation psychosociale aux études universitaires qui prend en compte l'effort d'acculturation.
