A baseline water quality survey of the Canard, Habitant and Pereau Rivers of King's County, Nova Scotia
Bibliographic record
Abstract
A spatial and temporal baseline water quality survey was performed from May 21- August 28, 2001 on the Canard, Pereau and Habitant Rivers, all of which are located in Kings County, Nova Scotia and flow eastward into the Minas Basin of the Bay of Fundy. The main objective of the survey was to determine if water quality within the rivers was suitable for impoundment and to be used as irrigation water during periods of low precipitation. The results of the study indicate that nutrient levels in all of the rivers are high and that the water is generally unsuitable for impoundment because of the substantial potential for development of eutrophic conditions within all of the reservoirs. Total hardness, alkalinity. and conductivity levels were all high, indicative of the strong buffering capacities of these rivers. Dissolved oxygen levels were never below 50% saturation, with one notable exception; a station downstream of the sewage treatment plant on the Canard River. which consistently experienced a significant drop compared to the prior station. Nitrate concentrations in the Pereau River were very high. The Canard River had significant total phosphorus concentrations. Fecal and total coliform counts often exceeded guidelines set by the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment throughout the study. and it was not uncommon for the counts of both variables to exceed the upper limits of the measuring technique (Quanti-tray Most-Probable Number).

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
