D’après les récents modèles théoriques de production de la parole, les représentations phonologiques se construiraient grâce au développement des compétences perceptives, avec la mise en place d’un feedback auditif, ainsi que du contrôle moteur de la parole, nécessitant l’activation de compétences somatosensorielles et motrices au niveau des articulateurs (Redford, 2015 ; Hikock, 2013). Il est souvent postulé (MacNeilage, 1998 ; Smith, 2010), mais peu vérifié, que le contrôle moteur de la parole se développerait en étroite relation avec d’autres fonctions orofaciales non spécifiques à la parole, comme par exemple la respiration ou la déglutition. Toutefois, ce postulat ne fait pas l’unanimité (Steeve & Moore, 2009). La controverse autour de l’efficacité des exercices moteurs oraux non-verbaux dans la rééducation des troubles de la parole illustre parfaitement ce débat. Dans ce contexte, ce poster illustrera l’hypothèse selon laquelle le développement des fonctions orofaciales non verbales serait potentiellement un prédicteur des erreurs de productions de la parole, par l’intermédiaires des habilités somatosensorielles et motrices orales de l’enfant. Ce poster exposera également la méthodologie de l’étude longitudinale qui a été mise en place pour étudier la trajectoire de développement de la parole et son interaction avec les fonctions orofaciales, et envisagera l’analyse de données qui permettront d’interpréter les résultats.
