Abstract
A prematuridade pode impactar o processo de neurodesenvolvimento, podendo alterar determinadas estruturas do sistema nervoso central, tais como as responsáveis pelo controlo postural. Descrever o comportamento do centro de pressão de recém-nascidos pré-termo face a uma intervenção em Fisioterapia e influência no seu desenvolvimento neuromotor. Estudo de uma série de casos de 4 recém-nascidos prematuros, internados numa unidade de neonatologia. Foi implementado um programa de intervenção, durante duas semanas, com três momentos de avaliação (antes e após o programa de intervenção em Fisioterapia). Nos momentos de avaliação, recorreu-se à plataforma de forças para registar o comportamento do centro de pressão. Avaliou-se também o estado de sono/vigília através da Escala de Brazelton Modificada, presença de dor através da Neonatal Infant Pain Scale e ainda alguma eventual alteração no desenvolvimento motor através da Escala Motora Infantil de Alberta. A intervenção foi baseada num processo de raciocínio clínico individualizado, para a definição do diagnóstico em fisioterapia. Após o período de intervenção verificou-se menor velocidade e deslocamento do centro de pressão, aumento do score da Escala Motora Infantil de Alberta. Após quinze dias de intervenção em fisioterapia foi possível observar um CP mais adequado, no seu componente de estabilidade e modificação na distribuição de carga na base de suporte.
