Saat ini, Kota Makassar merngalami kerkurrangan Rurang Terrburka Hijaur yang sangat jerlas. Masalah ini berrdampak pada berberrapa hal. Perrtama, sertiap tahurn Kota Makassar merngalami banjir sercara rurtin. Kerdura, jaminan akan urdara berrsih tidak dapat dijamin 100% lagi karerna tingginya polursi kerndaraan dan berberrapa indurstri yang berrada di kota ini. Perngarurh perrurbahan iklim global jurga murlai terrasa tidak serimbang. Serlain itur, kerberrsihan lingkurngan jurga mernjadi perrhatian karerna banyaknya sampah yang berrserrakan di ruras-ruras kota, yang mermperngarurhi kertidaknyamanan lingkurngan serrta mernjadi salah satur pernyerbab banjir dan mernyerbabkan berrkurrangnya kerterrserdiaan air berrsih urnturk masyarakat. Kota Makassar menghadapi tantangan besar terkait kekurangan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH), yang berdampak negatif pada berbagai aspek lingkungan dan kenyamanan kota. Masalah ini diperparah oleh alih fungsi lahan di perkotaan yang menyebabkan penurunan ruang hijau karena konversi menjadi kawasan terbangun. Namun, implementasi yang kurang efektif menyebabkan ketidaksesuaian antara rencana dan realisasi RTH di kota ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis superimpose dan analisis deskriptif untuk mengevaluasi kondisi RTH di Kecamatan Tallo dan Bontoala. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kedua kecamatan ini mengalami kekurangan RTH sesuai dengan rencana RTRW Kota Makassar. Arahan pengembangan RTH publik di Kecamatan Tallo dan Bontoala meliputi kerjasama dengan pihak swasta, pemanfaatan bantuan pemerintah dan masyarakat, serta upaya mempertahankan dan memperluas RTH yang ada. Selain itu, penting untuk menjaga ketersediaan RTH melalui sosialisasi, pemerataan jumlah dan luas RTH sesuai kebutuhan penduduk, dan implementasi peraturan terkait secara tegas dan konsisten. Potensi lahan kosong juga perlu dimanfaatkan, serta penetapan kawasan RTH publik untuk menghindari alih fungsi lahan menjadi kawasan terbangun.
