Abstract
Objetivo: Analisar a influência do crescimento intrauterino no desenvolvimento motor de bebês prematuros com idade corrigida de até 12 meses. Metodologia: Pesquisa analítica de abordagem transversal, onde participaram 197 bebês pré-termos com até 12 meses de idade corrigida, cadastrados em um Ambulatório de Alto Risco da Serra Gaúcha e subdivididos em pequenos, adequados e grandes para idade gestacional (PIG, AIG e GIG). Para avaliar e categorizar o desempenho motor foi utilizada a Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS), além de dois questionários para as variáveis relacionadas a fatores de riscos. Na análise de dados utilizou-se estatística descritiva e para associações, o Qui-quadrado de Pearson (p<0,05). Resultados: Embora sem diferenças significativas, observou-se que as crianças PIG apresentaram percentis menores e maior porcentagem de crianças categorizadas com atraso e suspeita de atraso no desenvolvimento motor em comparação aos pré-termos dos grupos AIG e GIG, sugerindo que quanto menor o crescimento intrauterino da criança, maiores serão as alterações no desempenho motor. Conclusão: Apesar da limitação do número amostral, o presente estudo sugere que bebês nascidos pequenos para idade gestacional possuem a tendência de apresentarem desempenho motor inferior em relação às crianças adequadas e grandes para a idade gestacional.
