Contributions of ergonomics and urban planning for the aging and validation of quantitative instrument in the municipality of Pato Branco - PR

Abstract
The present study aimed to develop and adapt the Portuguese version of the quantitative data collection instrument, based on the Vancouver Protocol (WHO, 2007), validating it in a sample of 113 people living in the municipality of Pato Branco-PR. The problem presented for the study was what the elderly people of the mentioned municipality think about ergonomics, urban planning, and more specifically about axes of the Global Guide (WHO, 2007) and the Ministry of Social Development, namely: building public and open spaces, transportation, housing, respect and social inclusion, civic participation and employment, communication, information and community support and health services and local protagonism. For this purpose, a case-study study was carried out with an intentional and experimental sample. A stratified probabilistic sample of elderly people in the municipality of Pato Branco was carried out, with the participation of 113 people from São Paulo, 99 elderly people and 4 leaders of institutions. they attend. The instrument of quantitative data collection consisted of a questionnaire, adapted from the Vancouver Protocol (WHO, 2007), containing 52 questions, in two parts: the first one of sociodemographic character and the second one with questions that included 8 axes of the Global Guide City Amiga of the Elderly and 1 of the Ministry of Social Development. The results obtained pointed out the sociodemographic aspects of the participating sample: 69.02% are Catholics, 60.17% have their own residence, 50.44% do not have a health plan, 67.25% never smoked, 53.98% participate 66.37% make daily use of the internet, radio or TV, 61.06% are physically active for 1 to 3 weeks, 75.22% are retired, 40.70% live in Pato Branco for more 36.28% live with spouses, 73.78% are 60 to 79 years old, 22.33% are 80 years old or older, and 3.88% are leaders of institutions. In each axis we searched for the most important variable, relating it to ergonomics, aging and urban planning. The most important axis was axis 8: Community Support and Health Services. The results consolidate the validation of the adaptation of the instrument for quantitative data collection in the municipality of Pato Branco-PR and may be suitable for other regions with similar ethnic and social , and be used as an instrument for the investigation of perception and population sociodemographic data, which allow the profile of the elderly population of municipalities similar to the locus of the research.
