Trabalhos demonstram benefícios da utilização de resíduos agroindustriais ricos em fibras dietéticas na alimentação de peixes, entretanto, estudos são necessários para elucidar seus efeitos na digestibilidade de nutrientes em peixes nativos, como o tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum), um peixe onívoro com tendência a frugívoro. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar os diferentes níveis de fibras dietéticas totais e seus efeitos na digestibilidade aparente, desempenho produtivo e parâmetros bioquímicos em juvenis de tambaqui. Inicialmente foi realizada a caracterização bromatológica de ingredientes (resíduos agroindustriais) oriundos de culturas agrícolas de impacto econômico no país. Em seguida, foi conduzido um experimento em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com 5 tratamentos e 4 repetições, correspondendo aos cinco níveis de fibra dietética total (FDT) (10,2%, 13,7%, 15,9%, 20,9%, e 23,5%). A determinação da digestibilidade aparente das dietas foi realizada através do método indireto de coleta de fezes, com a inclusão de 1% de óxido de cromo lll (Cr2O3), e coletas de fezes por meio do sistema Guelph modificado. Após 60 dias de alimentação, foi realizada a biometria final e coleta de fígado e sangue, para realização das análises de glicose, colesterol, albumina, triglicerídeos e determinação do índice hepatosomático (IHS) e índice gorduroviscerosomático (IGVS). Os dados foram submetidos aos testes de normalidade (teste de Shapiro Wilk) e homocesdasticidade (teste de Barlett) das variâncias. Em seguida os resultados foram submetidos a ANOVA e teste de Tukey (5%). Foi possível observar que os níveis de fibra dietética total não interferiram no CDAPB (Coeficiente de digestibilidade aparente da proteína bruta) e CDAMM (Coeficiente de digestibilidade aparente da matéria mineral) (p>0,05) dos peixes. Os CDAMS (Coeficiente de digestibilidade aparente da matéria seca) e CDAEB (Coeficiente de digestibilidade aparente da energia bruta) apresentaram diminuição a partir do nível de 15,9% de FDT, e o CDAMO (Coeficiente de digestibilidade aparente da matéria orgânica) demonstraram redução com 13,6% de FDT (p<0,05). No desempenho produtivo não foram observadas diferenças (p>0,05) entre os níveis de fibra dietética. Nos parâmetros bioquímicos não foi encontrada diferença na glicose plasmática (p<0,05), mas no colesterol, triglicerídeos e albumina foram observadas menores médias (p<0,05) a partir de 13,7%. As variáveis IGVS e IHS apresentaram diferenças (p<0,05), com redução nos valores de IGVS a partir de 13,7% e de IHS com 15,9% de FDT. Com 20,9% de FDT foi observada redução nos triglicerídeos, colesterol e albumina, além de diminuição no IGVS e IHS sem ocasionar interferência no desempenho produtivo. Portanto, os níveis de fibra dietética total de 20,9% e 23,5% apresentaram ser os melhores níveis para alimentação de tambaqui.
